Friday, April 29, 2022 was the deadline to sign up for a chance to get discounts on transit. This form is now closed.
DC Government is piloting a lottery for free unlimited trips or half-price discounts on Metro and bus. This lottery is called the Low-Income Fare Trial (LIFT). We’ll look at how the discounts affect how residents get around and their employment, income, family, health, and energy use. Roughly 1 in 3 people who entered the lottery and were eligible will receive a transit discount.
What happens next?
If you’ve already applied, we’ll send you an email or letter by Friday, May 13, 2022 to confirm your eligibility and let you know what you were selected to receive in the lottery.
